Rebecca Stockley

PERFORMER, IMPROVISATION INSTRUCTOR

Rebecca Stockley is an improvisational theatre teacher and performer. She has performed in improv shows, and played Theatresports in many cities in many countries. She has studied with Keith Johnstone for many years; since 1984. She co-founded of BATS Improv in San Francisco in 1986. Rebecca was the Dean of the BATS School of Improv from 1992 to 2003. Rebecca has been designing and teaching improvisation workshops since 1984. She has created and implemented improvisational theatre workshops and programs for several theatre training programs including: the American Conservatory Theatre Advanced Training Program; the Oregon Shakespeare Festival; and Stanford University. While Rebecca is a pioneer in bringing improvisation to the workplace - her greatest joy is in teaching improvisation skills to people who want to perform.

The "WHAT, WHERE, AND WHEN's"

IMPROVISING FOR BEGINNERS

Date: May 24th (Tuesday)
Time: 18:00 - 22:00
Place: Kobe, Theatre Pochette (See "Map")
Fee: 5,000 yen
Maximum: 16 persons
Type: Non-experienced persons, teachers and those wanting more basic skill-building under their belt.
Requirements: A willingness to stretch your creativity & have a great time.

This workshop is geared towards people who have not done much, if any improvised theatre before, but are interested in seeing what it is about and giving it a try. Also for those of you who have always wanted to try acting classes or improv, but either didn't have the opportunity were a tad terrified to take the first step. For those of us in the teaching field, sure to add some spark to your creativity and take a bit more fun into the classroom. Anyone is welcome, don't be shy! Let's have fun. DIRECTING/COACHING IMPROV

Evening: 18:00 - 22:00
Date: May 25th (Wednesday)
Place: Kobe, Theatre Pochette (See "Map")
Fee: 5,000 yen
Maximum: 10 persons
Type: Experienced Improvisors
This workshop will focus on the development of directing/teaching skill-building in Improv.

IMPROVISATION FOR NON-BEGINNERS

Date: May 27th (Friday)
Evening: 18:00 - 22:00
Place: Theatre Pochette, Kobe (See "Map")
Fee: 5,000 yen
Maximum: 16 persons
Type: Improvisors with some experience
Geared towards fine tuning skills in improvisation.

IMPROVISING FOR BEGINNERS

Dates: May 28th (Saturday)
Afternoon: 13:00 - 17:00
Place: Ashiya Community Center (Very near JR Ashiya)
Fee: 5,000 yen
Maximum: 16 persons
Type: Non-experienced persons, teachers, and those wanting more basic skill-building under their belt.
Requirements: A willingness to stretch your creativity & have a great time.

SCENE & CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT THROUGH IMPROV

Date: May 29th (Sunday)
Daytime: 9:00 - 17:00
Place: Ashiya Community Center (Very near JR Ashiya)
Fee: 10,000 yen
Maximum: 16 persons
Type: Improvisors with some experience
This workshop focuses on working with scenes and characters to explore opportunities/possibilities in their development. A MUST for any actor-type!

Getting involved

These workshops are for anyone interested in furthering their performance skills or communication skills. They have been divided into several levels. The workshops are open to anyone, we only ask that you be seriously interested in having a whole lot of fun! Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
